Ons Erfdeel vzw is an independent private non-profit-making organisation which receives subsidies from the governments of Flanders and the Netherlands. The Foundation itself secures a major part of its income through the sale of its publications and donations from patrons. Since the establishment of the journal Ons Erfdeel in 1957 and the Foundation in 1970 hundreds of institutions, commercial companies and private individuals have by their financial support enabled them to grow and develop.

Donations from individuals, associations and companies of a minimum of €30 (Belgium) or €60 (the Netherlands) are tax-deductible. The Foundation can supply a certificate for donations from Belgium.

Patrons' names and the amounts donated are printed in each issue of Ons Erfdeel.
